Even so, Wall has his fair amount of detractors including ESPN host Colin Cowherd, who remarked in 2010 of Wall’s decision to dance following a victory:

Those comments have long burned as uncalled-for criticism, and in the face of Wall’s connection with 6-year-old Miyah Telemaque-Nelson, Jones felt the need to point out the ridiculous nature of Cowherd’s prior statements once again.
“Some people have asked him to answer to the fact that his father died when he was young,” said Jones. “So basically, stay tuned for after this show and you can watch ‘You Herd Me’ and see if Colin Cowherd walks some of that stuff back.”
Cowherd apparently did have something to say about Wall following the events on Monday night:
That’s Cowherd basically dodging blame for what comes out of his mouth due to the nature of his programming schedule. Saying “John Wall has grown” is also a neat way to backhandedly sneak in the fact that Cowherd still thinks Wall’s actions in 2010 were immature — presumably under the same falsehood regarding the death of his father.
It will be interesting to see what, if anything, ESPN does about Jones considering its recent discipline of Bill Simmons and Keith Law.
Hopefully nothing will come of it. Good on Jones for pointing out an incredibly boneheaded comment from Cowherd.
